Invest in Uzbekistan Business Forum Held in Xiamen
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On the sidelines of the 25th China International Fair for Trade in Services in Xiamen, the Invest in Uzbekistan business forum was held, bringing together over 200 representatives from China’s business and government sectors.
The opening ceremony was attended by Ilzat Kasimov, Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, and Wang Jingfu, Deputy Governor of Fujian Province.
During the event, the positive dynamics in trade and economic relations were highlighted. In 2024, trade turnover reached approximately US$14 billion, five times higher than in 2017.
From January to July 2025, trade turnover amounted to US$8.78 billion, representing a 23% increase. Exports grew by 22.8% to US$1.8 billion, while imports totaled US$6.98 billion, up 23%.
Currently, Uzbekistan hosts more than 4,200 enterprises with Chinese capital, over 800 of which were established this year alone.
Forum participants were presented with key indicators of the investment climate, economic performance, business conditions, and promising areas for cooperation. The greatest interest was shown in the “New Tashkent” project, development of Tashkent Region, the leather and footwear industry, and the tourism sector. The event concluded with a series of B2B and G2B meetings, providing a platform for discussing new initiatives and strengthening partnerships.
The Invest in Uzbekistan forum reaffirmed the country’s status as a reliable partner and one of the most attractive investment hubs in Central Asia.
