Leaders of Uzbekistan and Qatar Hold Phone Conversation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 12 September, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a phone conversation with the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The leaders discussed current issues of strategic partnership and multilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Qatar.
At the beginning of the conversation, President Mirziyoyev strongly condemned the recent missile strikes by Israel on Qatar’s capital, Doha, emphasizing that such actions are unacceptable, violate the country’s independence and sovereignty, pose a threat to its security, and contravene the UN Charter as well as fundamental norms and principles of international law. He stressed that Uzbekistan opposes the use of force in international relations and any actions that contribute to the escalation of conflicts in the Middle East.
The President wished success to the emergency Arab-Islamic summit organized at Qatar’s initiative. In response, the Emir expressed gratitude for the solidarity and support shown.
Additionally, the leaders discussed the further development of active political contacts and coordination of measures to accelerate the implementation of joint projects by leading companies from both countries.
