MTS-Uzbekistan records 5.5% growth of subscribers in April

Mobile TeleSystems OJSC (MTS), the largest mobile phone operator in Russia and the CIS, said its Uzbek arm, MTS-Uzbekistan, serves over 1.8 million users as of the end of April 2007.

The company’s clientele base rose by 5.5% in April compared to previous month. MTS-Uzbekistan had 1.7 million users as of 31 March 2007.

MTS-Uzbekistan is largest Uzbek mobile operator in terms of number of subscribers and it holds about 50% of Uzbek market.
