Najmiddin Kosimkhojiyev Wins Second Universiade Bronze
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has added another medal to its tally at the ongoing Summer Universiade in Germany. Najmiddin Kosimkhojiyev secured a bronze medal in taekwondo.
Competing in the under 74-kilogram weight category, the Uzbek athlete confidently advanced to the semifinals, where he was narrowly defeated by Vinicius Matos of Brazil. Despite the loss, Kosimkhojiyev once again demonstrated a high level of skill and preparation, earning the bronze medal — his second career podium finish at the Universiade.
It is worth recalling that he achieved a similar result two years ago at the student games in Chengdu, China.
With this latest medal, Team Uzbekistan has so far earned 2 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze medals.
