Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The “Otukchu-Road” checkpoint on the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border has temporarily suspended operations due to damage to the bridge connecting it with the “Tul-Road” checkpoint on the Uzbek side.

According to the information center of the State Committee for National Security’s Border Service of Kyrgyzstan, the bridge supports were undermined by strong water flows.

Citizens and vehicles crossing the border will be redirected to a temporary checkpoint, “Apkan,” located in the village of Apkan in Batken district of Batken region.

The temporary crossing will operate from 07:00 to 23:00 and will be available only to citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
