Postal operators of Uzbekistan and Japan discuss priority areas of interaction

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 21 January, acting Director General of Uzbekistan Pochtasi Alisher Fayzullaev met with a delegation of Japan consisting of representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, Japan Post, as well as the Daiwa Research Institute.
The purpose of the delegation’s visit is to discuss cooperation in the field of postal services on the basis of the Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of information and communication technologies between the Ministry of Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan, signed in Tokyo on 17 December 2019.
During the meeting, an exchange of views on the priority areas of interaction between the postal operators of the two countries took place. The Japanese side expressed its readiness to expand and strengthen cooperation, to assist in the training and professional development of specialists of Uzbekistan Pochtasi.
The subject of discussion was also the transformation of the postal infrastructure of Uzbekistan. At the initial stage, to study the current state of affairs in the field of postal service, representatives of the Japanese Post and the Daiwa Research Institute will study the work of a number of post offices in Tashkent and Samarkand, the Halkaro Post Office branch.
In the future, through joint efforts of postal specialists of both countries, a strategy will be developed to reform the activities of the postal sector of Uzbekistan.
