Zamin Foundation presents a new large-scale project Zamin Eco-Education
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 5 May, a solemn meeting dedicated to the launch of the Zamin Eco-Education program was held in Nukus. The Zamin Foundation views environmental education as an important foundation for modern lifestyles. The main task of the project is to educate an environmentally responsible generation.
Eco-education encourages taking into account public opinion, involving public organizations in the decision-making process related to environmental protection issues. Eco-education is not only an important factor in the implementation of a sustainable development strategy, but also the basis for an effective environmental policy.
The program is implemented jointly with the Foundation for Environmental Education (Kingdom of Denmark), UNEP and Ted-Ed, including several independent components: international projects "Eco-Schools", "Green Key", "Earth School".
The program also includes several awareness-raising campaigns in mainstream schools on sanitation and hygiene in cooperation with UNICEF and on nutrition in cooperation with UN FAO. As part of Zamin Eco-Education, children will spend time in eco-camps, participate in eco-festivals, round tables and conferences.
