Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Employees of the Department for Combating Smuggling and Customs Audit of the Surkhandarya Regional Customs Directorate revealed the fact of transporting a large consignment of drugs in the body of a drug courier. This was reported by the press service of the State Customs Committee.
Suspicious foreign objects were found in the abdominal cavity of a foreign citizen arriving from a neighboring state at the border customs post "Airit", during the customs check using the scanning equipment for screening passengers "Body scanning".
After that, in one of the medical institutions of the city of Termez, an examination was carried out, as a result of which a total of 47 oval-shaped hermetic capsules were found and seized in the internal organs of the citizen.
When the capsules were opened, it turned out that in this way the drug courier tried to transport in his body a total of 423.42 grams of the opium narcotic drug and 17 units of white pills.
Currently, on the revealed fact of the crime, the customs authorities are conducting investigative measures.
