Ministry of Finance holds a meeting with the delegation of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 27 June, the Ministry of Finance held a meeting with a delegation of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank headed by the Director General for Infrastructure Operations, Ms. Supee Teravaninthorn.

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is an international financial organization that aims to stimulate financial cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region, financing infrastructure projects in Asia from the construction of roads and airports to communication antennas, and economy class housing.

The meeting was also attended by Ms. Mehek Marwah, Senior Specialist in Investment Operations, and Mr. Igor Popkov, Specialist in Private Sector Operations, Head of the Public Debt Department Zhasur Karshibayev, Deputy Head of the Public Debt Department Behruz Karimov and Deputy Head of the PPP Project Analysis Department for Economic Sectors Hassan Khasanov.

During the meeting, issues of bilateral cooperation in the implementation of projects in the transport and energy sectors, water supply, as well as public-private partnership were discussed.

Representatives of the Ministry of Finance informed the AIIB delegation about the ongoing reforms in the country, measures to ensure macroeconomic stability and sustainable growth, fiscal policy and fiscal risk management.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to maintain constant contact for further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation, implementation of joint projects.
