Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The head of the department for epidemiological monitoring and preventive measures of the Service for Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan Rustam Ikromov answers the question.
- According to statistics, the number of cases is increasing every day. In order to continue the measures against the coronavirus pandemic and prevent the spread of the mutated coronavirus infection, many measures are being taken.
So far, the decision of the Republican Special Commission on the mandatory wearing of medical masks in public places has not been made, but we recommend wearing medical masks for health and safety. The omicron strain of coronavirus is currently spreading. 90% of those infected are unvaccinated citizens. The remaining 10% are immunocompromised citizens or those who have been vaccinated for more than 1 year, as well as pregnant women and children.
All vaccines currently registered in our republic show their effectiveness, and in this regard, the use of these vaccines in our country will continue.
