Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Senate of the Oliy Majlis, together with the State Committee for Family and Women Affairs, the Republican Commission on the Enhancement of the Role of Women in Society, Gender Equality and the Family, as well as the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences, held a scientific conference on the topic “The role and merits of Uzbek women in the history of our statehood”.
It was attended by senators and deputies, government representatives, women heads of ministries and departments, representatives of the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences, Uzarkhiv agency, members of the Youth Parliament under the Senate, women activists of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions and the city of Tashkent, representatives of the public.
The conference was opened with an introductory speech by the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis - Chairman of the Republican Commission on the issues of enhancing the role of women in society, gender equality and the family Tanzila Narbayeva.
Today, more than ever, serious attention is being paid to increasing the activity of women in public administration and socio-economic processes.
Thus, the 69th goal of the Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan for 2022–2026 is designated as “support for women, ensuring their active participation in society”.
Of course, the implementation of these noble goals, reflected in the reforms to increase the socio-political activity of women, their support, first of all, requires a deep study of the attitude towards women in the three thousand-year history of the Uzbek statehood, national education, traditions and customs that are associated with the honor and respect for women, wide propaganda among the people of the role and merits of women in the history of Uzbek statehood.
The President of the country Shavkat Mirziyoyev always emphasizes the special role of historical science in educating national consciousness, mastering modern knowledge.
It can be proudly noted that the life of Uzbek women in the past in the field of public administration, military activities, defense of the Motherland, property, construction, entrepreneurship, sponsorship, education, upbringing, literature, religion is not found in the history of most peoples and states. This is evidenced by the scientific results of historical science, which has experienced accelerated development in the last five or six years.
The organized exhibition demonstrated the unique waqf documents of the fund, stored in the National Archives of Uzbekistan. These waqf documents indicate that various categories of women who lived during the period of the Emirate of Bukhara, the Kokand and Khiva khanates, were engaged in charitable activities and invested their wealth in the development of madrasahs, schools and other noble educational events. In addition, a photo exhibition of film, photo and audio documents of Uzbekistan stored in the National Archives, Uzbek national costumes and jewelry, images of women artisans, artists, creative personalities and other workers in the field, archival sources reflect the role and status of women in the history of statehood on a documentary basis. Uzbekistan.
During the event, the participants were greatly impressed by the information about the dignity of the Uzbek woman, the symbol of a woman reflected in ancient material sources, the role of women in government and society, the culture of clothing, jewelry and their philosophy, the activities of the Kokand princess - Ming Ayim and her bride Nodira - we run in the field of education, economic life and public administration, women’s charity in order to develop social life, education, creative work, press appearances of Jadid women who think in a new way.
As a result of the event, recommendations were adopted.
