Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 29 December, Uzbekistan’s international airports reached a record passenger traffic level of 10 million for 2023.
The anniversary passenger was Gulshad Najimatdinova, who arrived from Nukus to Tashkent on Humo Air flight HJ24. The woman and her family were flying to Tashkent for the holidays and did not expect such a surprise. She learned that she had become the 10 millionth passenger at Uzbekistan airports back in Nukus during registration. The director of the air harbor, Orynbai Bekbergenov, was the first to congratulate her.
At the arrival terminal of Tashkent airport, the passenger was solemnly greeted by the management of Uzbekistan Airports. She was presented with flowers and memorable gifts from the management company, as well as a certificate for 10 passes through the luxury lounges.
“10 million passengers is a record figure for airports in Uzbekistan. This was achieved thanks to systematic work to attract foreign air carriers to our airports, as well as the emergence of new domestic airlines. The anniversary passenger just happened to be on board one of these companies – Humo Air, which began operating flights literally in December of this year,” commented the press service of Uzbekistan Airports.
It is worth noting that at the end of 2022, the total passenger traffic at Uzbekistan airports amounted to 7.9 million passengers.
