Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 18 April 2024, Qanot Sharq Airlines opens direct regular flights Tashkent-Prague-Tashkent, creating favorable conditions for traveling around Europe, for the development of business cooperation between the Czech Republic and Uzbekistan. Flights to the capital of the Czech Republic will be operated once a week on Thursdays.
General Director of Qanot Sharq Airlines, Moses Pak, emphasized that the launch of the Tashkent-Prague route is the first on the list of European cities that the airline plans to open this year. He noted that the airline is proud of the continuation of good traditions established during the Great Silk Road. Moses Park expressed hope that the new direction will become a starting point for a deeper mutual understanding of the cultures of both countries, strengthening friendship and the implementation of long-term business projects.
Director of Aviation Business at Prague Airport Jaroslav Filip confirmed that communication with Uzbekistan is one of the priorities for this year. “Establishing direct flights to Tashkent has been our long-term goal. The launch of this route is the result of our negotiations with Qanot Sharq Airlines, which lasted more than a year. In 2019, before the Covid-19 pandemic, almost 70 thousand tourists from Central Asian countries visited the Czech Republic. We expect over 15,000 passengers to use this new route within the first year of operation. The new flights will also contribute to the development of air cargo transportation.”
