Proposal to Build a Hotel on the Site of Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of the development of Tashkent’s nighttime economy, plans are underway to construct a five-star hotel with a 1,000-space parking lot on the site of the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute.
This is outlined in a draft resolution prepared by the Agency for Strategic Reforms, which also includes support measures for catering, service, and entertainment businesses, including targeted loans.
The document foresees the creation of the electronic platform Tungi Shahar (“Night City”) with participation from the Ministry of Digital Technologies, the Ministry of Transport, and the Tourism Committee. The platform will provide information about cafes, restaurants, museums, sports complexes, and other facilities operating at night, as well as night public transport routes, special offers, promotions, and discounts.
By the end of 2025, the national car-sharing platform is expected to launch in the capital, initially in districts with the highest concentration of tourists: Mirabad, Yunusabad, and Yakkasaray. An automated bike-sharing system will also be established based on a public-private partnership. The Ministry of Health is tasked with deploying mobile medical units to serve residents and tourists during nighttime hours.
The cultural aspect of the nighttime economy will include concerts, festivals, and theatrical performances. The Ministry of Culture has been instructed to develop a program to attract global pop stars to international events in Tashkent.
The relocation of the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute to the Tashkent Pharma Park cluster and construction of the hotel on its former site will be part of a comprehensive approach to modernizing urban infrastructure, attracting tourists, and supporting initiatives to expand the nighttime economy.
