Rhine-Ruhr 2025: Ninth Medal for Team Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — At the ongoing 2025 World Summer Universiade in Germany, the delegation of Uzbekistan has claimed another medal — a silver in taekwondo.
Competing in the over 87 kg weight category, Uzbek athlete Marat Mavlonov confidently advanced to the final, defeating his opponents at every stage of the tournament. In the decisive match, he faced Sanghyeon Kang of the Republic of Korea. After a hard-fought battle, Mavlonov secured second place, earning the silver medal of the Universiade.
As of now, Team Uzbekistan has won a total of nine medals: two gold, four silver, and three bronze. The competition continues.
