Server Djeparov joins IFAB’s Football Advisory Panel

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Former captain of Uzbekistan’s national football team and two-time Asian Footballer of the Year, Server Djeparov, has been appointed to the Football Advisory Panel (FAP) of the International Football Association Board (IFAB).

IFAB is the body responsible for developing and improving the Laws of the Game. Its advisory panel includes representatives from FIFA and all continental confederations.

Djeparov now joins this influential body alongside global football icons such as FIFA’s Chief of Global Football Development Arsène Wenger, former players Sunday Oliseh of Nigeria, Esteban Cambiasso of Argentina, Youri Djorkaeff of France, and Luís Figo of Portugal.

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) was allocated two seats on the panel. Representing West Asia is Server Djeparov, while East Asia is represented by Tsuneyasu Miyamoto, President of the Japan Football Association, former national team captain, and professional player.

The IFAB Football Advisory Panel plays a key role in assessing, proposing, and shaping changes to football’s rules. Over the next two years, Server Djeparov will participate in discussions aimed at making the game fairer, more transparent, and more engaging.

FAP members are expected to advocate for the interests of their confederations and the global football community. They must possess deep knowledge of the professional game, stay attuned to modern trends, and contribute actively to the panel’s work.

Djeparov’s appointment is a recognition of his contributions to football and a testament to Uzbekistan’s growing presence in the international football arena.
