Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 14 August, Deputy Ministers of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Otabek Fazilkarimov and Ilhomjon Umrzakov met with representatives of Japan’s Sojitz Corporation to discuss prospects for bilateral cooperation.

Sojitz Corporation is one of the world’s leading trading and investment companies, operating in the fields of energy and natural resources, chemicals, transport and infrastructure, agriculture and food industry, as well as green energy.

The corporation has offices in more than 50 countries and participates in major investment projects jointly with public and private companies. The delegation included Kojiro Kishi, Head of the Healthcare and Energy Division; Bahrom Salomov, General Director of the Tashkent representative office; and other members.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the development of economic cooperation, the expansion of areas of engagement, and key projects implemented through public-private partnerships.

Particular attention was paid to PPP infrastructure projects, notably the construction of modern multi-specialty hospitals in the regions, as well as potential new initiatives.

Following the talks, both sides agreed to continue strengthening cooperation, develop effective projects in the identified sectors, and enhance the exchange of expertise and information to further expand collaboration.
