Targeted Measures to Be Introduced in High-Crime Mahallas of Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan will implement targeted mechanisms to address crime-prone mahallas.
The corresponding Presidential Resolution (No. PP–253 of 18 August 2025) “On Amendments and Additions to Certain Presidential Resolutions Aimed at Further Enhancing the Effectiveness of the Early Crime Prevention System in Mahallas” outlines the key directions of the reform.
The document stipulates the full coverage of mahallas with high crime rates by modern video surveillance systems, integrated with artificial intelligence–based software.
In addition, by the end of the current year, technical property protection systems are planned to cover 30% of households and 60% of legal entities.
To build a reserve of highly qualified personnel within the law enforcement system, the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will introduce distance-learning formats and gradually increase admission quotas for bachelor’s programs.
