Tashkent and Tianjin Expand Cooperation in Urban Utilities

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from the city of Tashkent headed by Mayor Shavkat Umurzakov is on a working visit to the Chinese city of Tianjin.

During the visit, talks were held with representatives of the Tianjin administration focusing on cooperation in the field of urban utilities and municipal infrastructure.

The sides discussed prospects for the development of drainage systems, modernization of wastewater treatment facilities, introduction of advanced water disposal technologies, as well as water purification and reuse solutions.

Special attention during the negotiations was given to the exchange of practical experience between the two cities, the study of efficient engineering solutions, and the possibility of applying them to the development of Tashkent’s urban infrastructure.

Following the meeting, the parties signed cooperation documents.

The agreements предусматривают the development of partnership ties, exchange of expertise, and joint work on projects aimed at improving the sustainability of urban infrastructure, modernizing drainage and treatment systems, and implementing modern technologies in wastewater management and water reuse.
