TBC Uzbekistan Enters Insurance Market with Launch of Digital Company TBC Sug‘urta

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — TBC Uzbekistan has entered the insurance market with the launch of TBC Sug‘urta, its own insurance company focused on a fully digital format and integration into a unified ecosystem of financial services. This strategic move aims to expand the brand's presence into new segments and establish a comprehensive digital architecture, where insurance will serve as a key component.

A life insurance license was issued by the National Agency for Advanced Projects in March 2025. By April, TBC Sug‘urta had already commenced operations and, within just three months, demonstrated a strong start: over 140,000 insurance policies were issued to clients, and total insurance premiums exceeded $2.97 million.

One of the key advantages of TBC Sug‘urta is full digitalization — policies can be issued online, without visiting a physical office, directly through the TBC UZ mobile application. This is especially convenient for loan applicants, as insurance can be arranged simultaneously with the loan application, saving time and simplifying the process for users.

“We see insurance as a natural extension of our ecosystem. It builds customer trust and provides them with greater confidence in their future and financial decisions. We will continue to develop our insurance direction by strengthening synergy across all TBC products,” said Nika Kurdiani, CEO of TBC Uzbekistan.

TBC Sug‘urta is led by Ekaterine Lotuashvili, a seasoned insurance executive with over 25 years of experience in Georgia and the United Kingdom, including senior positions at Lloyd’s of London. Under her leadership, a life insurance program for borrowers has already been launched, with plans to make this product available to users of other TBC services.

“The world is unpredictable, and insurance is no longer a luxury — it’s a necessity. We offer our clients an accessible and reliable way to protect themselves and their loved ones from financial risks. The online format makes insurance clear and convenient for everyone,” emphasized Lotuashvili.

With a focus on digital technology, broad reach — over 19.7 million users across the ecosystem — and high trust in the brand, TBC Sug‘urta is well positioned to become a leader in the life and personal insurance segment. The company offers life insurance services (classes I–VII) as well as voluntary general insurance (classes 1, 2, and 18), and plans to actively expand its product line.

TBC Sug‘urta is becoming a key pillar of the TBC Uzbekistan ecosystem, introducing modern approaches to insurance and contributing to the development of the country’s financial sector.
