Ummataliyev Defeats France’s Cesar to Deliver Uzbekistan’s Third Gold in Liverpool
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Javokhir Ummataliyev secured Uzbekistan’s third gold medal at the World Boxing Championships in Liverpool, winning in the under-80 kg weight category.
In the final bout, the 20-year-old Uzbek boxer faced 21-year-old Frenchman Yojerlin Cesar.
Ummataliyev took control from the opening round, sending his opponent to the canvas with a knockdown and convincingly winning the round.
In the second round, Cesar tried to shift the momentum, but Ummataliyev neutralized his attacks and again came out on top.
In the final round, the Uzbek boxer fully controlled the fight and carried it through to a well-deserved victory.
As a result, Uzbekistan’s national team now holds three gold and three bronze medals at the Liverpool World Championships.
