Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The U.S. Special Envoy for Global Partnerships, Paolo Zampolli, met today in Tashkent with the Uzbekistan national football team, the U.S. Embassy in the country reported.

On behalf of U.S. President Donald Trump, Zampolli congratulated the team on their historic qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in the United States.

The embassy’s statement emphasized that the 2026 World Cup will not only be a major global sporting event bringing together nations and peoples but also showcase American leadership in sports management, innovation, and event organization.

In particular, the dedication and efforts of the Uzbekistan national team in preparing for the tournament were highly praised.
