Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  From 25 September, citizens of Uzbekistan will be able to visit Jordan visa-free for up to 30 days, the press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Akhror Burkhanov, announced.

Earlier, on 26 August, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan held talks in Samarkand with King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein of Jordan. Several documents were signed following the meeting, including an agreement on the abolition of visa requirements.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the agreement will come into effect 30 days after signing. Under the new arrangement, Jordanian citizens will also be able to visit Uzbekistan without a visa.

Previously, Uzbek citizens could obtain a visa on arrival in Jordan; with this agreement, the kingdom becomes the 35th country that Uzbek nationals can enter without a visa.
