Uzbek Men’s Boxing Team Wins Six of Ten Categories at World Championships

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s national boxing team finished first in total medals at the World Championships in Liverpool, England.

This event marked the first “senior” World Championship organized by World Boxing, established in 2023 and representing 118 countries worldwide.

Eighteen Uzbek athletes competed — ten men and eight women — collectively winning 11 medals.

The men’s team displayed absolute dominance, capturing six of the ten weight categories. The remaining four golds were claimed by Kazakh boxers. The women’s team contributed one silver and three bronze medals to Uzbekistan’s tally.

In terms of medal quality, Uzbekistan ranked second with six golds, behind Kazakhstan with seven. India placed third with two gold medals.
