Uzbekistan Airways launches international pilot training program with Egmont Aviation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan Airways has signed an agreement with the certified Slovenian flight school Egmont Aviation to provide practical training for cadets of its Aviation Academy.

The first group has already successfully completed the theoretical stage and passed all exams. Currently, cadets are undergoing practical training in Slovenia at Egmont Aviation’s facilities, the airline’s press service reported.

Egmont Aviation is an EASA-certified flight school, offering training from PPL to ATPL levels, including license conversion programs and aviation English courses.

Starting from September, a new group of Uzbek cadets will join the joint program. Theoretical training will be held entirely in Uzbekistan with the participation of Egmont Aviation instructors, while the practical stage will take place in Slovenia.

Deputy Chairman for Flight Operations Shakhzod Ikramov emphasized: “If previously Uzbekistan Airways cadets could only fly within Uzbekistan’s airspace, now overseas practice will allow young pilots to gain experience flying in different European airspaces, adapt to international standards, and broaden their professional horizons.”

Practical training will take place at Maribor Airport (Slovenia) under the guidance of experienced European instructors with extensive civil aviation training expertise. Upon completion, cadets will receive an EASA international certificate, recognized in many countries worldwide, opening career opportunities both in Uzbekistan and abroad.

With this initiative, Uzbekistan Airways takes a significant step in advancing aviation education, giving future pilots the chance to become part of the global aviation community while proudly representing their homeland in the skies.
