Uzbekistan and China Strengthen Industrial Partnership in the Leather and Footwear Sector
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation of the Uzbekistan Leather Industry Association “Uzcharmsanoat” held talks with representatives of the China Leather Industry Association in Wenzhou, China.
The discussions focused on expanding bilateral cooperation, launching joint projects, and promoting investment initiatives.
A key point of the agenda was the development prospects of the Oltinko‘l Small Industrial Zone in Andijan region. The Chinese side expressed strong interest in increasing production capacities, establishing new production lines, and boosting the output of finished goods at the site.
Currently, the Oltinko‘l zone plays a strategic role in Uzbekistan’s leather and footwear industry. Existing enterprises are already in operation, wholesale trade infrastructure is being developed, and efforts are underway to modernize and expand production facilities. Implementation of new projects will further strengthen the zone’s potential and provide a new impetus for industry growth.
The attraction of Chinese investment will enable Uzbek producers to access China’s vast domestic market as well as other Asian markets.
At the same time, the introduction of modern technologies and advanced equipment will create favorable conditions for expanding production of finished goods and increasing export volumes.
China, as a global leader in the leather industry, brings vast experience and capabilities, while Uzbekistan offers a rich raw material base and growing manufacturing potential.
The dialogue launched in Wenzhou lays a solid foundation for building a long-term strategic industrial partnership between the two countries.
