Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 18 July 2025, a meeting took place between Rajit Nanda, CEO of the Saudi-based company DataVolt, and Umid Abidkhodjayev, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan.

DataVolt specializes in the design, construction, and operation of modern data centers. Its infrastructure solutions are tailored for corporate clients and stand out for their high performance, energy efficiency, and environmental sustainability.

The company places particular emphasis on the integration of renewable energy sources — including solar, wind, and hydropower — and is committed to enhancing energy efficiency and achieving carbon neutrality through international certification of green energy (I-REC).

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for developing the I-REC mechanism in Uzbekistan, ensuring sustainable power supply for the IT sector, and implementing modern green energy solutions.

Special attention was given to the potential improvement of national legislation concerning renewable energy certification.

As a result of the talks, both sides agreed to jointly analyze key focus areas, draft proposals drawing on international best practices, and continue cooperation to help shape a resilient energy market in Uzbekistan and strengthen bilateral dialogue.
