Uzbekistan and Germany Discuss Cooperation in Education
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 13 September 2025, the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of Uzbekistan, Qo‘ngirotboy Sharipov, held a meeting with Professor Jörg Bagdan, President of the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences in Germany.
The meeting focused on the possibility of opening a branch of the university in Samarkand, its significance, and prospects, as well as an exchange of views on bilateral cooperation in the field of education.
In particular, both sides emphasized the need to involve industry from Uzbekistan and Germany to provide students with practical experience and expand their employment opportunities. The German delegation expressed full support for this proposal.
The discussion also covered the organization of a forum in Germany, visits to several universities, and the arrangement of meetings.
During the forum, an agreement was reached to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between Anhalt University and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of Uzbekistan.
It was decided that in November 2025, the forum in Germany would provide an opportunity to discuss these issues in greater detail and determine the subsequent practical steps.
