Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Following productive talks in Samarkand, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan and King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan adopted a Joint Statement aimed at strengthening strategic partnership between the two countries.

During the visit, 15 bilateral documents were signed, including agreements on extradition, the promotion and protection of investments, the establishment of a Joint Commission, visa exemption, and cooperation in higher education, scientific research, and tourism.

Additionally, protocols were signed to amend the intergovernmental agreement on air services and to enable online exchange of advance information on the movement of goods and vehicles.

Special attention was given to agreements on cooperation in agriculture, plant protection and quarantine, veterinary services, and a memorandum on standardization, metrology, and conformity assessment.

Interagency memoranda of understanding on religious affairs and a Practical Action Plan for implementing the agreements reached during the visit were also part of the signed documentation.
