Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan Expand Cooperation in Civil Aviation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During the second meeting of the Working Group on Civil Aviation Cooperation “Central Asia – China” (C5+1), representatives of the civil aviation authorities of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan held negotiations, the press service of the Uzbek Ministry of Transport reported.
The talks resulted in an agreement to increase the number of regular flights between the two countries.
This step aims to improve transport accessibility, strengthen business and cultural ties, and enhance the tourism appeal of both states.
Under the agreement, designated carriers are permitted to operate up to 42 flights per week on the routes Almaty – Tashkent and Nur-Sultan – Tashkent. On all other routes, flight frequency will be up to 7 flights per week. Overall, if carriers operate flights on all approved routes, the maximum permitted frequency will reach 238 flights per week.
In addition, the parties agreed to expand the list of destinations for regular flights.
It is worth noting that cooperation in the aviation sector is already showing positive results. Since 3 July 2025, the Uzbek airline My Freighter (Centrum Air) has been operating the route Aktau – Nukus twice a week, while since 15 July 2025, the Kazakh airline Fly Arystan has launched flights on the Atyrau – Tashkent route three times a week.
Following the negotiations, both sides reaffirmed their readiness to continue constructive dialogue and joint work to further develop air connectivity and expand mutually beneficial cooperation in civil aviation.
