Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 24 June 2025, on the eve of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to Mongolia, the Minister of Mining Industry and Geology of Uzbekistan, Bobir Islamov, held a working meeting with Sanjaagiin Narantsogt, Director General of the Mongolian state-owned company Erdenes Mongol.

During the talks, the two sides discussed key areas for establishing mutually beneficial cooperation in geology and the mining sector. Particular attention was given to prospects for the implementation of joint projects, including the exploration and development of copper and uranium deposits.

The discussions also covered the coordination of priority plans and the possibilities for experience exchange, technology transfer, and the expansion of scientific and technical cooperation between the relevant agencies of both countries.

In addition to the bilateral meeting, representatives of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology participated in the Mongolia–Uzbekistan Business Forum held in Ulaanbaatar. The event served as an important platform for strengthening economic ties and exploring promising areas of collaboration in strategically important sectors.
