Uzbekistan and Primorsky Krai Strengthen Tourism Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 2 July 2025, First Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Jamshid Abdusalamov, met with the First Vice Governor and Chairman of the Government of Russia’s Primorsky Krai, Vera Shcherbina, who arrived in Uzbekistan on an official visit.

During the talks, the two sides discussed in detail the current state and prospects of tourism cooperation between Uzbekistan and Primorsky Krai. Particular emphasis was placed on the implementation of the Joint Program to Increase Tourist Flows for 2025–2026.

The importance of active participation by tourism companies from both countries in international exhibitions and forums was highlighted, especially within the context of the Year of Tourism of Uzbekistan in Russia.

Vera Shcherbina expressed strong interest in deepening direct regional ties, not only in tourism but also in the education and business sectors. She noted the growing interest among residents of the Russian Far East in Uzbekistan’s rich cultural and historical heritage. Specific proposals were discussed, including familiarization tours, roadshows, and the development of joint investment projects in the tourism sector.

For his part, Jamshid Abdusalamov emphasized the strategic importance of cooperation with Primorsky Krai as a key partner region in expanding tourism ties with the Russian Federation. The meeting was held in a spirit of constructive and friendly dialogue.

Both parties confirmed their readiness to actively continue practical cooperation and to launch new interregional initiatives in the field of tourism.
