Uzbekistan and Qatar Strengthen Investment Cooperation in the Tourism Sector
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of efforts to expand international tourism ties, Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism of the Republic of Uzbekistan Umid Shadiev held talks with Sheikh Naif Eid Muhammad Sani Al-Sani, Chairman of Retaj Group, Deputy Chairman of the Arab Tourism Development Fund, and a member of the Qatar Hotel Association.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in the tourism sector, including the promotion of Uzbekistan’s cultural, educational, and pilgrimage routes in the Qatari market. Special attention was given to attracting Qatari investment for the development of Uzbekistan’s tourism infrastructure.
Specifically, discussions focused on the potential construction of international-class hotels, the development of themed tourist complexes, and the implementation of modern hospitality service standards.
Sheikh Naif Eid Al-Sani praised Uzbekistan’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage and noted the growing interest of Qatari tourists in Central Asian destinations. He expressed readiness to support the strengthening of business ties between tourism industry representatives of both countries.
As a result of the talks, both sides agreed to continue cooperation, implement joint initiatives, and promote investment projects aimed at the dynamic development of tourism and increasing tourist exchanges between Uzbekistan and Qatar.
