Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 22 July, a delegation from Uzbekistan led by Chairman of the State Security Service Bahodir Kurbanov visited Kabul for talks with acting Minister of National Defense of the Taliban government, Mohammad Yaqoob.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Chairman of the State Security Service Farrukh Mukhtorov, Commander of the Border Troops Salimjon Khasanov, and other officials.

The two sides discussed pressing issues of regional security, emphasized the importance of developing good-neighborly relations, and expressed satisfaction with the current level of economic cooperation. The Uzbek side reaffirmed its support for the stabilization process and the economic recovery of Afghanistan, stressing its readiness to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.

In response, Mohammad Yaqoob thanked Uzbekistan for its constructive stance on the Afghan issue in international forums and praised the growing contacts between the two countries.

The talks also touched on border cooperation, logistics, and further coordination in several areas of mutual interest.
