Uzbekistan Installs Inspection Systems for Scanning Passenger Vehicles at Customs

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — For the first time in Uzbekistan, inspection systems for scanning passenger vehicles are being installed at border customs checkpoints.

Currently, work is nearing completion at the “Navoi” border customs post with the participation of specialists from the United States.

Starting from 1 September 2025, this will enable the full launch of a dual-lane risk management system for vehicles at the “Gishtkuprik,” “Zangiota,” and “Davut ota” checkpoints, based on the principles of “green” and “red” corridors.

These inspection systems, manufactured by the American company Rapiscan, are being installed for the first time not only in Central Asia but also across the entire CIS region at Uzbek customs facilities.

The equipment is capable of scanning up to 220 vehicles per hour. Similar systems are also planned to be installed this year at the “Syrdarya” and “Davut ota” customs posts.
