Uzbekistan is one of main trade partners of Tajikistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan was one of the main partners of Tajikistan in January-August 2009. Trade turnover between two states made up US$151.9 million in the reporting period.

Uzbekistan was the fourth largest trade partner of Tajikistan after Russia (US$540.7m), China (US$388.7m) and Kazakhstan (US$184.3m).

Foreign trade turnover of Tajikistan fell 30.6% to US$2.219 billion in January-August 2009. Current trade balance deficit comprised US$1.018 billion in the reporting period.

Tajikistan’s exports dropped 43% to US$600.3 million and imports fell 24.7% to US$1.619 billion in the reporting period.
