Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The appointment of a new head coach for Uzbekistan’s national football team may be finalized as early as 27 August, according to sports journalist Jaloliddin Kabiljonov.

He reports that representatives of former Portugal head coach Paulo Bento are expected to arrive in Tashkent soon for final negotiations.

Earlier, it was reported that the 55-year-old coach is considered the leading candidate for the position of Uzbekistan’s national team manager.
