Uzbekistan Proposes Liability for Illegal Use of Laser Pointers
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis have reviewed, in the first reading, a draft law “On Amendments to the Code of Administrative Liability of the Republic of Uzbekistan,” initiated by a group of deputies under their right of legislative initiative.
During the discussion, it was emphasized that there has been a recent increase in cases involving the illegal import and use of portable laser emitters. These devices pose a serious threat to the life and health of citizens, the safety of aircraft flights, and public order as a whole.
The draft law proposes to introduce administrative liability for the unlawful acquisition, possession, use, as well as import and distribution of portable laser emitters within the country.
The adoption of this law is aimed at strengthening control over the circulation of potentially dangerous devices, preventing violations, and ensuring public and aviation safety.
The draft law was approved by deputies in its first reading.
