Uzbekistan reaches G3 level in ICT Regulatory Tracker

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has significantly improved its position in the ICT Regulatory Tracker, published by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), gaining 45 points and becoming the top-ranked country in Central Asia with a G3 level.

In 2020, Uzbekistan scored 27.5 points, corresponding to the G1 level. By 2022, it had increased its score to 45 points, reaching the G2 level. In 2024, the country added another 27.5 points, reaching a total of 72.5 and moving from G2 to G3. This marks a 45-point improvement since 2020.

As a result of this progress, Uzbekistan has become the only country in Central Asia to achieve the G3 level. This achievement significantly enhances its global competitiveness in the field of information and communication technologies and opens up broader opportunities for international cooperation and attracting investment.

This milestone reflects the success of Uzbekistan’s policies aimed at developing a favorable regulatory environment for ICT, building a digital economy, and implementing innovative reforms.

The ICT Regulatory Tracker is an assessment tool developed by the ITU that evaluates countries' ICT regulatory frameworks across more than 50 indicators. The tracker is updated every two years and enables comparison of countries' levels of digital transformation.
