Uzbekistan to Cooperate with China on Regional Transport and Economic Integration — Deputy Prime Minister
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — At the 25th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) in Xiamen, Fujian Province, Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev highlighted CIFIT’s role as a flagship global investment platform and a key bridge connecting participants of the Belt and Road Initiative with opportunities in green trade, digital commerce, and industrial innovation.
Khodjaev emphasized that Uzbekistan and China have established a comprehensive, all-weather strategic partnership in the new era, which has already delivered significant results.
As an example of cooperation, he noted the beginning of construction on the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway, according to Ecns.cn.
“This strategic transcontinental route will closely link Central Asia with markets in East Asia and Europe, significantly reducing transport time and distance, while strengthening regional integration,” Khodjaev said.
He praised China’s strong support in implementing this historic regional project.
The Deputy Prime Minister also highlighted that China is currently Uzbekistan’s largest trading partner and one of the country’s key investors.
“Historically, Uzbekistan was an important part of the Great Silk Road. Today, together with our Chinese friends, we are reviving these ancient connections at a new, modern level,” he concluded.
