Uzbekistan's Gas Production Declines by 2.9% in January–May 2025
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From January to May 2025, Uzbekistan recorded a 2.9% decrease in natural gas production compared to the same period of last year.
According to data from the National Statistics Committee, total gas extraction amounted to 18.37 billion cubic meters.
A decline was also observed in oil production. In the first five months of this year, domestic enterprises extracted 270,800 tons of crude oil — an 11.2% drop compared to the same timeframe in 2024.
At the same time, coal production saw a significant increase, reaching 2.37 million tons — 24.6% higher than in the previous year.
Automotive gasoline output for the period totaled 488,200 tons, marking a 14.3% decline from January–May 2024. In contrast, diesel fuel production rose by 13.3%, with 441,400 tons manufactured during the reporting period.
