Uzeltekhsanoat Association hosts meeting with leading Chinese energy companies
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 22 May 2025, the Uzeltekhsanoat Association held a meeting with representatives of leading Chinese energy companies — China Electrical Equipment, China Huadian Overseas Investment, and Poly Changda.
The Chinese delegation included Ma Jun, Chief Representative of China Electrical Equipment in Uzbekistan, along with senior representatives from China Huadian Overseas Investment and Poly Changda.
On the Uzbek side, the meeting was attended by officials from the Ministry of Energy, the Uzeltekhsanoat Association, and major domestic manufacturers of cable products.
The discussions focused on the implementation of a 500 MW solar power plant project planned for construction in the Forish district of the Jizzakh region, as well as other promising renewable energy initiatives across Uzbekistan. Particular attention was given to cooperation with local cable manufacturers to support the project's needs.
The parties agreed to widely incorporate Uzbek-made products, especially cables, into the project, pursue localization of production, optimize transport and logistics operations, and build long-term cooperation frameworks.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the participants outlined concrete steps to strengthen the partnership and effectively leverage the potential of Uzbekistan’s local industry.
This project marks an important milestone in expanding renewable energy sources in Uzbekistan and modernizing the country’s national energy system. It also creates new opportunities to deepen collaboration between the private sector and international companies.
