Vitebsk to Host Belarus–Uzbekistan Women Entrepreneurs’ Dialogue

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Preparations are underway for the 3rd Belarus–Uzbekistan Women’s Business Forum, titled “Belarus–Uzbekistan: Cooperation as a Driver of Sustainable Development”, which will be held on 28–29 August 2025 in the city of Vitebsk. The news was announced following a working meeting at the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus, according to the Council’s press service.

The meeting was chaired by Natalia Kochanova, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic.

The session brought together members of the Presidium of the Council of the Republic — Sergey Aleynik, Leonid Zayats, and Sergey Sivets — as well as Council members Irina Abelskaya, Irina Levkovich, and Alexander Lukyanov, Vitebsk Region Governor Alexander Subbotin, and representatives of various ministries, agencies, and organizations involved in organizing the forum.

Natalia Kochanova noted that a dedicated working group had been formed to coordinate preparations for the event.

“We must hold the forum at the highest level. This will be our third meeting: the first took place in Minsk, the second in Uzbekistan — both demonstrated the strong level of engagement between our countries,” said the Speaker.

She also announced that, in agreement with the Uzbek side, the forum will feature a special session focused on interparliamentary cooperation, with an emphasis on the work of local self-government bodies.

During the meeting, key aspects of the forum’s organization were discussed — including participant selection, venue arrangements, topics for breakout sessions and speeches. Special attention was paid to ensuring the forum’s content is relevant, practical, and conducive to strengthening bilateral ties.

The upcoming Belarus–Uzbekistan Women’s Business Forum will serve as an important platform for building partnerships between women entrepreneurs from both countries. It will also provide an opportunity to address current issues in local governance and economic development.

Organizers expressed confidence that Vitebsk’s extensive experience in hosting international events will ensure a high standard of preparation and execution for the forum.
