Uzbekistan sets penalty for driving cars without special means, equipment

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan introduced a penalty for driving vehicle without must-have equipment, envisaged by the rules of traffic.
On 23 September 2016, Shavkat Mirziyayev signed a law “On introduction of changes and amendments to some legislative acts of Uzbekistan”.
Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan passed the law on 22 August 2016 and Senate approved the document on 25 August 2016.
The law introduced amendments to the code of Uzbekistan on administrative responsibility. According to the amendments, driving cars without first-aid kit, fire extinguisher, emergency sign and light reflecting vest, as well as hammer to break glasses will be punished with the fine at the size of ½ size of minimal salary.
Driving mopeds without helmets will be punished with the fine at the size of 1/5 sizes of minimal salary.
