Uzbekistan to open consular offices in five cities of Russia

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan is planning to open its consulate offices in five cities of Russia, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Javlon Vahabov said.
He said that Uzbek Foreign Ministry works on opening consulates of Uzbekistan in Russian cities of Saint Petersburg, Kazan, Rostov-na-Donu, Yekaterinburg and Vladivostok. Uzbekistan also intends to open consulate in Almaty (Kazakhstan).
Uzbek official said that Uzbekistan plans to increase number of staff in several consulates in foreign states.
He said that foreign political offices, first of all, foreign establishments were not ready to increasing number of migration flows to foreign states. He said that the Uzbek Foreign Ministry received about 3,000 appeals of the citizens, of which 66% were related to consular-legal issues.
Javlon Vahabov noted that main part of the appeals related to issuing certificate to return to motherland in case of loss of passport, exchange of passport to new one, transportation of the bodies, etc.
He said that number of consular employees is not enough to ensure execution of tasks on protection of rights and interest of the citizens of Uzbekistan said.
For example, there are just to consulates in Russia, where are the largest number of the citizens of Uzbekistan, - in Moscow and Novosibirsk. They cover 7 from 8 federal district of Russia. This is about 80 regions of Russia he said.
