Former assistant of Louis van Gaal heads Pakhtakor

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Famous former football player from Georgia Shota Arveladze has been appointed as the head coach of Pakhtakor Tashkent, the press service of the Uzbek club said.
Shota Arveladze played for such clubs as Dynamo (Georgia), Trabzonspor (Turkey), Ajax and AZ (Holland), Rangers (Scotland) and Levante (Spain) during his playing career.
After he retired from football, Arveladze worked as an assistant coach of Louis van Gaal at AZ (Netherlands). He headed during various years such clubs as Kayserispor and Kasimpasa (Turkey). He also worked as the head coach of the Israeli club Maccabi.
Pakhtakor Tashkent also signed a 30-year-old defender from Montenegro, Marco Simic.
