Trial deliveries of Russian oil to Uzbekistan started

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Russian Federation has started trial shipments of oil to Uzbekistan, Kommersant newspaper reported.
The paper said that in three years, Uzbekistan plans to launch jointly with Gazprom a new oil refinery with the capacity of 5 million tonnes.
But to increase supplies it is required to expand the oil pipelines through Kazakhstan, the financial scheme of which is still unclear, the newspaper writes.
The Russian company Transneft on Friday started pumping oil in the direction of Uzbekistan through Kazakhstan via the Omsk-Pavlodar-Shymkent pipeline. Further, the raw materials are planned to be transported by rail.
According to the approved schedule, Russian will deliver 30,000 tons of oil a month, but the supplies can be increased up to 60,000 tons a month.
In 2018, according to the management of Uzbekneftegaz, it is planned to upgrade the pipeline in order pump up to 1 million tons of oil. Currently, according Transneft, the pipeline allows to pump about 0.5 million tons of oil as it is used by Rosneft to deliver oil to China via Kazakhstan (10 million tons per year).
The report said that Gazprom Neft started to deliver the oil to Uzbekistan. The company refused to comment on development.
