Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Kandym gas processing complex (GPC), located in Bukhara region, was put into operation in Uzbekistan. The project was implemented with the participation of the Russian company LUKOIL.
Exactly two years ago, on 19 April 2016, a solemn ceremony of laying the foundation stone of the Kandym gas processing complex was held on the Kandym field in Bukhara region.
Its capacity is more than 8.1 billion cubic meters of gas per year. It will allow processing of hydrogen sulfide-containing gas in order to produce purified natural gas, stable gas condensate and sulfuric sulfur.
The Kandym gas processing complex includes a gas production and collection system, a gas processing plant consisting of two processing lines, commodity export terminals, including the supply of commodity gas for export through a gas main.
Gas comes from 114 producing wells, combined into six cluster sites and two collecting points. 77 wells have already been drilled and a modern system for collecting natural gas has been created.
In addition, within the framework of the project, a shift camp for 1,150 people, 500 km of technological and infield pipelines, water pipelines, over 280 km of roads and 50 km of access railroad, and 272 km of power transmission lines were built on the territory of the Kandym deposit.
The total cost of the project exceeded US$3.4 billion. Kandymsky GPC is the largest investment project of LUKOIL in Uzbekistan. Its implementation will create more than two thousand jobs, at the peak of construction there were involved about 10 thousand employees. At the same time, for comparison, only about three thousand people work in different structures of the Russian company in Uzbekistan.
