Uzbekistan and Egypt sign agreements on implementation of projects for US$470 million

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Egypt signed agreements on implementation of investment projects totaling US$470 million following the results of the Uzbek-Egyptian business forum and the cooperation exchange in Tashkent.
The events took place within the framework of the official visit of the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The participants held talks on mutually beneficial economic projects in such areas as tourism, pharmaceutics, electrical engineering, mining of rare earth metals, the creation of a fruit and vegetable and logistic hub.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Trade, credit agreements with Egyptian banks for US$60 million were also concluded. These agreements were signed by the National Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan with African Eximbank and Cairo Bank.
Also export contracts worth US$13 million to supply cotton yarn and copper pipes were signed.
