Redco International considers prospects for implementation of energy projects in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 22 February 2019, a meeting was held with Mr. Saif-ur-Rehman Khan, director and co-owner of a major industrial holding Redco International (Qatar). The company, with more than 14,000 employees, is engaged in the production of reinforced concrete structures, concrete, metal-roll and textile products.
The company’s top manager said it is considering prospects for implementing large-scale energy projects in Uzbekistan, including affecting the alternative energy sector. Such projects have already been successfully developed and implemented in Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Nigeria and Kazakhstan, while ensuring prices of 3.8-4.0 cents per kilowatt-hour of electricity produced. The company also shows great interests in terms of participation in the privatization and renovation of a number of hotels in the city of Tashkent and the regions of the republic.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for cooperation in determining the most promising areas for foreign partners and forming a package of specific investment
